Before You Make New Resolutions... Reflect First

Hold on before you rush to write down those 2026 resolutions. Here's a challenge: take some time to look back at your 2025 goals. Which ones didn't you achieve? More importantly, why didn't you achieve them?

This isn't about dwelling on failures—it's about learning from them. Understanding why you fell short is far more valuable than creating a fresh list of goals you might not accomplish again. Ask yourself:

Was the goal realistic or too ambitious?
Did you lack the resources, time, or support needed?
Were there external factors beyond your control?
Did you lose motivation along the way? If so, why?
Was the goal truly yours, or were you trying to meet others' expectations?
Did you have a clear action plan, or was it just a wish?

When you understand what went wrong, you can make informed decisions about what comes next. Maybe some of those 2025 goals are still worth pursuing—but with a better strategy. Maybe some need to be adjusted or even abandoned. That's perfectly okay. Growth comes from honest self-assessment, not from accumulating unfulfilled promises.
