
SUG Launches Essay Competition 1.0 with ₦30,000 Cash Prize for NDU Students
Students of Niger Delta University now have an exciting opportunity to showcase their writing skills and compete for a ₦30,000 cash prize as the Office of the President, Student Union Government (SUG), introduces the Online Essay Writing Competition 1.0.
The competition, designed to encourage creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression among students, is open to all bonafide students of Niger Delta University. Participants are free to write on any topic of their choice, giving students the opportunity to express ideas on issues they are passionate about.
According to the organizers, entries must contain a minimum of 350 words and should be entirely original. The use of AI-generated content is prohibited, as all essays will undergo screening to verify authenticity and compliance with competition requirements.
Submissions can be sent in PDF, DOC, or DOCX formats. Registration is completely free, making participation accessible to all interested students.
The competition process will take place in two major stages. The first stage, Initial Screening, will verify eligibility requirements including word count, proper file format, confirmation that participants followed the official channel, and evidence that the competition flyer was shared. Only successful participants from this stage will move on to the second stage.
The second stage will involve Public Voting, where finalists will compete through a voting poll accessible only via the official channel.
